Default Liberia Costa Rica

Just thought I'd throw this out , anyone fished there? Any suggestions... charters, Captian's, species in April? Heading down for a wedding, thanks in advance .

liberia is an airport, flew in there when it first opened. think it was an hr, hr and a half from the coast. memorable trip, ran head first into the 'Detroit boys" annual fishing tournament weekend

Have to find out if your on the North side of the country and if the wind is still blowing, I was on the North part in Feb and the fishing sucked hehe Think I'm the only one in the world that has had a bad fishing exp in CR. Next time ill stay in the South and go fishing with John

I'm pretty sure I remember guys saying the wind slows down in the summer in the North of CR it was either that or the opposite.

last time i flew out, the security guard carefully removed two reels worth of power pro, as he said it was a hazard. at least it was on the way out, not the way in.

Iran contra airport. Last time I flew in and out of there, there wasn't even a building at the "airport" - Just a blacktop runway. The good ole days . . .

Without a doubt I'd go with Richard Chellemi on the GameFisher II out of Potrero which is very close to Liberia airport. Awesome fishing and a really great crew and captain. Pretty sure they had a few Costa Rica records last time I was down there.

Dreams is a great place to stay, we spent a week there last year! Fishing was ok, my wife caught her first sailfish and it was a stud! Have fun Guanacaste is not a bad area! PM me if you have any questions, have fun, Kris
