I there something you can recommend as good reading to get up to snuff on catching these game fish? Never caught one.

Can you give me a Library of Congress Catalog number and the publisher's name, or perhaps Tireless can just send me his copy.

Bull, it's real easy , just rig up to troll for marlin but slow down to 2 to 4 mph and you catch sharks.

that's how we knew were moving to slow in So. Cal.

For thresher and makos off the West Coast, the best books I have read were written by Fred Archer. He wrote a book on trolling, and one for drifting with chum, for threshers and makos. I have used his techniques very successfully for both sharks.

Excellent books. Send me a PM and I can send you his catalog.

Find an Al-Queda, cut his head off, and hang him over the side. They stink when they are alive, no less dead.

In waters off of Long Island you cant beat chumming and having a live bluefish in the slick.
There is a ton of info on the net... be careful with mako's... they jump....... be careful with threshers..... there tail could get you....... dont under estimate the power of any shark... one swing of there tail and they will be gone.... wether your are holding the line of not!!!
