Default Bahama Bonefish

I will be bonefishing for 4 days in the end of May. I will be in Freeport Grand Bahama and I have booked the services of Capt Phil and Mel's Bonefishing Guides. Anybody have any advice, experiences or stories to share?

Don't know the guides you've booked, we've always fished with the Pinder Brothers there, who are well known on Grand Bahama. They have a site, Grand Bahama Bonefishing. A guy stateside does their booking for them. I think he's actually in Ohio.
The north side of the island is a phenomenal bonefishery. You'll be losing alot of bonefishing hours if they pick you up at Lucaya and then drive you all the way to Mclean Town to fish, which I have experienced before. You need to check before you go as to exactly where you're going to fish. It takes a solid hour to get down there and back. The fishing can be good down there, but it's good if not better up the north side from Riding Point west beyond the airport towards West End. You should stay at one of the Our Lucaya resorts, especially if you have wife and/or kids. Plenty to keep them comfortable there and the casino is now finally open.
Good Luck, take plenty of gotcha's.........
