Default Best Spot in the World For Marlin?

I'm planning on taking a trip next year about this time (May or June) looking to catch some marlin. My father and I are talking about taking a trip and fishing for two or 3 days and go after Marlin- Black, Blue, Striped, it really doesn't matter as long as the fishing is good. We're looking to spend around or less than 10K for the total trip. Does anyone have any recomendations on the best spot in the world for bill fish. We've looked at going to Kona, Panama, Costa Rica, etc.. My father doesn't want to go somewhere and end up spending all that money and not catching one. Whats the best bet for garunteed marlin?

I think Cabo is a great place to catch Stripers in June!! It very common to have multiple fish days that time of year.

In May, I would check out Hautulco, Mexico. Prime Time with Capt Josh Temple. Big blacks and blues, plus all the other trimmings.

They are supposed to start flying cheaper direct flights in from Los Angeles soon. Fishing starts 500 yards from the beach.

There are no guarantees when it comes to billfishing! Believe me, I've been skunked during so called prime times too.

Here are my choices:

Blues - Costa Rica in the Spring & Summer; Punta Cana, Bermuda & St. Thomas May thru July; Hawaii

Atlantic Blues - Venezuela in the winter

Blacks - Panama & Costa Rica in the winter; Ecuador & Oz.

Stripes - Galapagos, NZ, Cabo area & Costa Rica. Distant fifth - Guatemala

Whites - Punta Cana (May & June) and Venezuela (Aug thru Oct). Some say Brasil, but it's been spotty.

A combo trip for all three species for under ten large? It's doable.

I'd pick: #1 Guanamar or Los Suenos, Costa Rica; #2 East Cape, Baja Sur; #3 Galapagos; #4 Hawaii; and #5 NZ & Oz, tho I don't think you can do a short trip there.

The timing may be a bit later than you want to go. But Bom-Bom Island will give you world class Blue Marlin, YFT, Wahoo and Cubera Snapper in July/August for less than $10k. The Blue Marlin are guranteed that time of year.
