They will eat just about anything, but I personally would focus on feathers, feathers, and more feathers. Try them in daisy chains. Cedar plugs work and so do small spoons.

dolphin weenies work, but they aren't a specific thing. anything can really be a dolphin weenie. They are just small bubbler heads or chuggers or feathers or softheads with a strip of Uncle Josh's Pork rind or a strip of squid. They are not a particular brand of lure or anything. just a nickname that has been given to small trolling lures with a strip on it

The best i have found are made in Marathon at the Tackle Box its called a Triple D they come in different sizes and colors troll them at 6 - 10 knots and the Dolphin go crazy for them. You can also rig them up for ballyhoos if you like to use bait.

C+H Rattle jet or the Stubby Bubbler. The Stubby Bubbler has caught Dorado, YFT, Wahoo and Blue Marlin (yes BLUE marlin) for me in the last eight months. They all love that
lure for some reason, especially Dorado.

OK, here's the deal. Call Ray's Offshore Tackle in Boca and order some of the mini lures in Blue & White. They sell these lures rigged or unrigged, with cable leaders (yes, wahoo will nail them) or with mono.

Run them on 20lb or 30lb tackle and enjoy!

Mini "Green Machines" also work well as do Zukers and a bunch of other lures. You might also want to pull some ballyhoo -- they're not difficult to rig, but run mediums so you don't temp the small "chicken" dolphin.

ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS have a small (1/4-3/4 oz.) blue and white feather in your spread. This lure outfishes everything else for mahi, and a bonus is that it catches small stuff as well when the day is going slow.

Turbo mini slammers work great too, and can be trolled fast. I like the pink/fuscia color the best.

Always like to keep a pink bubbler with a ballyhoo on it, this seems to be the bait and color of choice in the keys for the bigger dolphin as well as the offshore billfish.

Mine is rigged with 200lb mono and about a 6/0hook. I run it all alone; no bally, strips or anything. Notice I refer to inthe singular? It's the only one I've got left and that's why it has a 200lb leader on it!

Really, so just by itself? I have one that is pearl - kind of reflects a pinkish color. Then I have another one that is blue and silver.

I'm in Florida Gulf Coast - what else might go after it outside of Dolphin? Think a King would go near it?

if you don't have confidence in the stubby bubbler by itself, put a little 2-4 inch strip of squid on it. You can catch a king or a dolphin or a Cobia and i've even caught a Remora on it. It is all about being confident. And C&H also advertises that you can catch sailfish and wahoo on it as well. all variations of this lure are good, the lil' stubby, the lil' bubbler, the rattle jet is good too.

See my first post: ".......Stubby Bubbler has caught Dorado, YFT, Wahoo and Blue Marlin..........."

I've also caught Spanish Mackerel on it so I figure a King would hit it too. The package said it catches everything that swims. They all say that, but in this case Ibelieve it.I've only ever used that pearl/pink/mylar looking thingy you have.

Nothing at all. I've never had to since the first day I put it in the water it's been nailed just about every time by something. All the other suggestions here are great for Dorado, it's just that this particular lure is pretty versatile/amazing and for six bucks you really can't go wrong.

If you want to catch dorado, period, use something small, almost anything will do. Bigger lures, though, give you a better shot at hooking a big one. Try a medium marlin lure, something like a 10", for starters. Rig with 9/0 to 10/0 hooks and 250 to 300 lb leader. Troll on 50 lb tackle as anywhere you're seeing a lot of dorado you could hook into a blue.

I like green dolphin SR. or dolphin Jr. for consistant schoolie hookups. Like others have said, if they are hungry they will eat anything. Some brands call them dolphin candy or dolphin delights.

Basically smallish trolling feathers.
