Default Juvenile Blue Fin Tuna Catch?

We caught a bunch of small tuna 10 miles out of Bimini recently and first assumed they were black fins. We noticed that the tunas had very obvious vertical dotted or beaded white lines on the sides.

I've caught small black fins in the past and do not reall such lines, but I have seen some photographs of juvenile blue fin that DO have such lines. How would one discern between juveniles of the two species?

They were skippies.

Bluefins will have a mottled looking belly. Skipjacks have stripes. BFT will also have yellow finlets, while the blackfins will be black.

Sounds like small yellowfins or bigeyes to me.
