Default IF you had one place to fish one time?

I have a rare chance to go pretty much where ever I want to fish in the next two months...How ever I have no idea as to where I want to go. My choices are USVI, Bahamas, Crooked Island, Keys. Pretty much anywhere down south. If you had a chance to fish June and July maybe even August of this year for Wahoo, Tuna, Marlin, Dorado, and even some surf and bottom fishing where would you go? I usually dont fish much off shore during the hot months but this is a one time deal and I want to get the most out of it....Any past experiences? Knowledge? and CHarter Boats worth talking about? Ive read myself to death but would like some word of mouth experiences..THank you

Are you making this a family vacation, or a fishing trip. If a fishing trip, and I had to stay close to the states, I would go to Venice, LA, in June. Catch a mixed bag of dophin, tuna, marlin, wahoo, and bottom fish of all types. If you are making a combination vacation and fishing trip, Venice is not the place to go. If I could venture a little furhter, I would probably head to Tropic Star Lodge, in Panama.

Can't believe the irony of this post. As I read his question, I knew immediately that I was going to recommend Venice, LA. I go several times a year...and was there last weekend. Had a fantastic trip. If it's catching a bunch of fish that you want to do, you can't beat Venice. But like said above, it's no place for a family vacation. Especially right now, it's strictly fishing. Facilities were wiped out by Katrina and have not been rebuilt yet. I'm not even sure there is any place to stay down there.
If you decide to look into it, the best guide down there is Captain Brent Roy. He runs a first class guide service and can also arrange accomodations on a houseboat there. Let me know if you're going to check him out. I'll tell him to take good care of you. I've been with him several times. He's great.

Whats your budget, how long can you fish and are you locked into that season? BTW, I have been to Tropic Star twice and would not recommend it after my last experience. Hard strikes!

I trying to stay under 10K for two weeks of well deserved R and R and fishing. Thinking of some giant yellow fin out west, or down south, or the gulf. Thats if I stay in the states. Out side the US thats the quary there. Baja sounds good, Costa Rica, Hawaii, dont need all the fancy resorts, just a decent room, two or three hot meals a day, a shower and lots of fish. Would really enjoy some inshore Cubera, Roosters, Permits, and off shore I would love to Catch some big tuna, dorados, Wahoo, and see if we could get a marlin up. Ive caught a couple of marlin, but never a giant tuna, well giant to me. ANything over 175lbs would be a big one for me. There are so many charters who say they are the best, so many salt water personalities saying fish this place and this place. I would rather hear from you guys/gals to see how it really is. Maybe I could get Jose Wjebe to show me around? Im kidding but would to hear about any and all Charter Captians in any hot sport fishing area..Thanks

THanks for the info. I got everything jotted down so I wont forget or mis place it..I cant wait for my trip. Ive been saving for this for about 10years. I really started watching the weather a little closer now with these trips coming up.....Sort of got to laughing at myself about it, I really want this trip to go smooth and the only big events are some big ole fish.......I do practice tag and release. I may keep a red once in a blue moon. Other than that they all get a tag and go back.

Fish Guatemala with Brad Phillips for sails. No better place in the world, no question. Try Los Roques off Venezuela for the best bonefishing, after 50 fish in a morning you'll quit from exhaustion. Call Artmarina in Brazil for marlin. MV Coral Star Isla Coiba Panama live aboard mother ship. Hard strikes and take lots of pix.

In Venice, Scott Avinzino, Paradise Outfitters. His boats have tagged two granders over the past two years, plus lots of everything else. He runs a 305 Albemarle, but he also has a couple of 35 Cabo's and a couple of 32 and 36 Twin Vee's. Probably won't catch a tuna that weighs 175. He may already be booked for June. I am going the 5 - 7th of June.
Good Luck!
