I can't remember where I got mine but 1st check the THT vendors. Then take a look at swordfishingcentral.com. Good site with alot of dedicated swording/deep drop info.

Captain Harry's in Miami. No one knows more about deep dropping and swordfishing. They have all the gear, rods, reels, terminal tackle, and have great prices. Not to mention great knowledge as to how to use it.

Found this on E-Bay. What do you guys think? Looks like a great deal with free shipping and all.

Looks a little pricey to me, though I've never bought that stuff so I dunno. Do the girls come with it for $2,199?

Have you looked at Capt Harry's stuff?

2195 is a good price for a complete set up of the 651 if they are offering the smaller 621 its not that good of a price.

How much do you want to spend? You can get into a deep drop outfit suitable for 1800 feet plus for under a thousand buks. There are several options out there. I think the 651 is overkill for this area a 621 will do the job for a lot less. I deep drop often often means about 45 minutes a week on the average this is not something you do all day long because what would you do with all the fish? I had to think this out before I decided on the 621 kristal if I had to do it all over again I would buy the kristal 75 same reel as teh 621 but about half as much. I wish I had known about the 75 before I got the 621. I think that the time used verses the money investment is something to consider.

Thanks for the replys.

I bought the XL651 from www.BoatStoreUSA.com I'm real happy with it. Rod, reel, spectra line , light, rig, plug and lead delivered for $2199. Bought a few extra rigs and lead. Stuff showed up in two days.

I asked him about the Xl621's and he said he has them for $1449 or $1499 total rod reel line package I cant remember the exact price. Xl651 reel only $1750 and 621 reel only I think $1150

Had a buddy go in on it with me and he insisited in the 651. Thing looks great stout rod too all Aftco !!!
