Default Nice boat on Sosin's shbow tonight.

I just watched the Mark Sosin show tonight and they were tarpon fishing out of a sweeeeeeeeeeeet Buddy Davis CC. It was one of Mark's better shows that I have seen and nice to see them in a top of the line CC.

Also neat watching them keep the tarpon away from the hammerhead

I liked it as well ... both the boat and the show.

Mark was a little less preachy and actually showed some respect for the guide (who is the real "Expert in Saltwater Fishing"). The info he shared was less of the "buy my cd and carry 25 tackle boxes so that you are ready for anything" and more useful and specific.

The shark sequence was really cool as well!

Is it just me or is Sosin a real Blowtusk?

I like sosin. at least he tries to tell you something useful while fighting a fish instead of going, "AWESOME, WOW, THIS IS SO COOL, OOH MAN, AM I FIGHTING THE FISH OR IS THE FISH FIGHTING ME, HAR HAR HAR"

I will say the one thing that irritates me about him is that if you listen to him you would think if you do not use a bimini twist on your shoe strings you will not catch fish I think he has a Fetish for the Bimini twist, I guess this is so we will buy his how to tie a knot cd

Was one of his better shows and I still loved the boat

While you are entitled to your opinion, you could not possibly be more wrong about Mark Sosin. He is a gentleman, as nice a man as you would want to meet, an excellent angler, and he really does try and teach and educate people about fishing, conservation and proper techniques. I have met Mark a number of times, and when I first moved to Florida I met him years ago at a fishing seminar and he was not only down to earth and friendly, but he went out of his way to answer my 5 year old son's questions, and showed a genuine interest in him and his interest in fishing. I am pretty sure that Mark is past 70 years old now. I hope that when I am his age I have his energy and enthusiasm for fishing and life in general. I see him occasionally at Bass Pro events in Ft. Lauderdale, and he seems pretty down to earth, and signs a lot of autographs and answers a lot of questions. Why do you rip a guy, call him names, and insult him? If you do not like his program, why watch it?

I watch his program and find it more informative than most. He shows you good techniques and rigging. The only show that is better is the Florida Fishing Report for us here in the Sunshine State. That is only because it gives up to date timely information on what is running and where. I have Sosin's knot c.d. and it has improved my knot tying 100%. There are other fishing shows that quote him directly and give him credit for teaching them certain things so I guess he can't be all that bad.

Never met him, but those I know that have don't have good things to say about him.

My critique was more of his TV style than him as a person....

I perceive that he talks down to the guides. From a style perspective I prefer Rick Murphy
who probes, asks questions and gives less directions to the guides. Rick treats his guides like
a teacher or a friend ....

We all know are the real "experts" it is not the TV personality. It is the guide
who fishes that particular strecth of water every day for that particular fish.

You can chalk it up to the Marketing Department, but I get sick of the "Knot CD"
every commercial break... probably not Mark's call but it does get tedious.

Those are my two complaints.....they are not personal. I don't know him and
would probably like him if I met him (as long as he doesn't talk down to me).

I watch his show because it is good....but his TV style grates me a bit but not enough
to stop watching. Call it constructive criticism. Based purely on TV persona, I'd rather fish
with Rick Murphy....

I have met him a couple of times and found him to be a nice guy. Of course one time I met him, I was working and I generally get treated pretty well when I meet people on duty. His wife is VERY nice. I think his persona is different than he is in real life so to speak.

I've never met him, but have had several friends and charter captains I fish with present as the local experts on the SW Sportsman traveling roadshow. To a person, they didn't care for him.

But he's doing it & I'm not.

Still can't decide who wins the goofy hat award: Sosin or Flip P.

When you meet him, does he whip out the pliers, or just shake your hand?
