Default Venice LA Tuna Fishing Shrimp Boats

For you guys who have experience there. Do the big yellow Tuna show up on the Shrimp boats during early September White Shrimp season or does the area require cooler temps before they show up on the boats?

Rmeladine1982 Feel free to push any intel towards me on the exact same question. I have been to Venice several times but always in the summer months. Headed over for the weekend of 9/10 if we get a window.

I'll be rolling out of Cypress Cove in an old Proline with Mercs, and headed out of South Pass if it's not silted to go devil depth by then. Will budget a couple of bud lights for anyone that walks up and says hello. Good luck fellas

I am told the west side of south pass is very silted! Travel Center to the east side. That sandbar has pushed waaaaay out. Heard a guy hit it not long ago and rip the motors off his boat. They were standing up in the sand not hurt. However by the time he got back to get them someone had already stolen them!

Staying in Miss Pelican Venice Marina....ice blue Calcutta 263. Most days headed in right direction with a dialed in fishing plan...some days make all poor fishing choices so if you follow me hope you choose wisely . Plenty of cold frosty's on porch for transient visitors who stop by.

I count a 6 pack. Might just go for all the free beer but doubt it's worth the 15 hr drive.

I scored a floater (sounds wrong) in the Venice Marina for the weekend, really looking forward to having a kitchen and a short stagger to the boat in the morning.

Now to solve the age old question of fishing familiar waters out of south pass or run Tiger and hope for shrimp boat luck.

I plan on fishing that same time frame 9/17-9/21 with two friends of mine. We are looking for a charter right now but if anyone is looking for three guys to help out with expenses shoot me a PM.
