Default Titanium wire to braid connection

I bought some titanium wire leader today to check out. I'm trying to eliminate terminal tackle.. because I think it reduces bites. So I don't want to use a swivel, and want to tie this wire directly to my braided line. Is an improved albright okay to tie? It says I can tie a clinch knot for my hook connection which is fine if it draws down tightly, I just worry about the wire cutting the braid. I'm attaching 45 pound wire to 50 pound braid.

I don't know because I've never tried what you're attempting to do. Just as a suggestion how about a cats paw with the braid over a doubled portion of the wire leader. It would have to be pretty tight to not slip. I'd like use a small swivel.

Never tried with braid, may need to double up your line but I do it with mono. I forget the name of the knot but basically you make a U with the wire, pass the main line through the bend, wrap it starting low working up 10-15 times, then exit back through the bend. When I get on my computer I'll find a diagram. Works great with titanium.

Albright knot.

Yeah, that's the knot I plan to tie. If it's working for mono I bet it'll work for braid, the Albright is a really solid knot. I think I'll give it a try.

Do you want a long length to go through the eyes?

Double wrapped flemish loop eye pulled down tight, secured with a small sleeve .... cats paw.

I was thinking since it was about a dollar a foot I'd probably keep a short leader, maybe 2 feet.

I tried for hours to tie it to 50lb. braid and couldn't do it. I went to a crimp and it works fine. I have caught big Kingfish, Cobia, Bonita, Dolphin, and many different types of bottom fish.

That's what I'm doing, tying to braid. Why couldn't you get it to tie right? Is it just because the diameter of the wire is so small? I'm used to tying the albright with thicker mono and it's pretty easy but it might be interesting with this wire.

I prefer a small AFW SS 78lb Mini Swivel with a double wrapped flemish loop, but I'd still use the loop (either way) with any knot of your choice.

An angler should use whatever he's comfortable with.

Tperkerson is spot on. Nothing beats a albright special for this joining!
