I assume you are talking about the rod holders? I have also had problems. Nearly lost rod/reel on Sunday when the cylinder of the rod holder just popped off the clamp piece. I'm removing the other 3 and replacing. Any suggestions?

I try to avoid west marine I feel their products are cheaply built and over priced.

Just look at the reviews on WM and you will see you are not alone.

I picket up two of the Attwood clamp on rod holders from amazon. 35 bucks each on sale. . Really good quality and won't fall off. Godd reviews as well. Had one one the boat for 3 years now and is still perfect.

The reviews are what steered me away from them. People are more likely to complain about a product than they are to praise it. So when I see an item with a lot of reviews I aways read them first. Chances are that they are no good.
