Default Best guess-what hook is this?

I have needed pliers and a knife to remove it more than enough times that I should get a few more of same style in stainless. Thanks in advance.

Looks kinda like a Mustad 7692 or 7691. Closest thing in stainless would be a 7691S.

Not positive by any stretch though.

Looks too me like a mustad 7698 or something of the sort. They are all pretty similar in the southern tuna style hook with the most popular usually being the 7691.

Looks like an old mustad model that has long since been discontinued. I have some similar with a needle eye that I picked up at a tackle store in Biloxi back in the early 90s. At the time they looked like they had been sitting on the shelf for years and were probably 70's vintage . Very well made and far superior to what they are selling today.

They used to have a dozen or so models of southern/tuna hooks but now only make the 7691/7692 and the 7698 which is a swordfish hook and is really too thick for tuna.

Could always clean it up and hit it with some cold galvanizing

Definitely an old hook, thinking 80's and thinking Mustad also. Appreciate it.
