Default Jerry Brown Hollow Core Question???

I have been using Spiderwire on my Penn Senators...it's time for some new line and my buddy and I were wanting to split a 2500 yard spool of 130lb Hollow Core....I understand how it's great bc u can add top shot and what not by splicing it or whatever....this may be a dumb ass ? But can you tie it? Like how do you go about tie'n the rigs with a swivel to it and what not....thanks for helping

Sure you can! Be sure to learn how to slice it though, as that is where you really reap the benefits of having dropped a few extra dollars!

So does the splicing deal with tying the line to a swivel? Or is that with the adding line and stuff?? Can u do all knots just like a regular braid? Thanks for the help

Splice an end loop, then pass the loop through the ring of the swivel. 100%.

I have been tying a Bimini Twist in the braid and a bristol (no name knot) to connect the mono or fluro. For some odd reason, the bristol knot will not bite with 130JB. Anyone else experience this?
To op, just do a Bimini twist in the braid and an offshore swivel knot (cats paw) to the swivel. Quick, easy, and almost 100% connection.

x2 that is a 100% connection.

Yes, you can tie any knot you could with your old braid. I feel it is less slippery than most and therefore ties better than most, but I only tie in a pinch.

Learn the finger trap and end loop, both 100% connections, no knot can say that, they get close, but not 100%

I had an issue with Albright knot holding 80 flouro to 80 jerry hollow core. I haven't learned to splice yet.

One issue if trolling dacron is if it's in the water fish sometimes nibble it and cause a break off. Use a mono or flouro topshot on your setups. Change it out when it starts looking beat up.

If you are going to splice it make sure you get white....the colors have a wax coating making it very difficult almost impossible to splice....

Wax? .... I find colored lines seem to be a little tighter, but I prefer it for a better locked down splice fit ...
