Default Rod for Penn Spinfisher

Probably gonna purchase a Penn Spinfisher V 4500. I've heard these reels are bulletproof.

This will be an all around type of reel. I fish/boat in South FL, so I'll be using this reel for anything from inshore/flats fishing (bonefish, permit, small bonnetheads, small tarpon, etc) to offshore patch reefs and wrecks.

That said, what would be the best rod for this reel and this type of fishing? I'm thinking maybe a Penn squadron?

Thanks

Love the reel. I don't have any of the 4500, but a bunch of the 3500 and 5500. I would think you would be good on a 7' med-heavy setup as long as the tarpon are sub 70lbs. I like the St. Croix Avid line, but to each their own.

I fished that same reel with an Ugly Stik, but found it didn't have enough backbone. Switched to a St. Croix Tidemaster and a St. Croix Mojo Inshore and they are MUCH nicer.
