Default Australia or Fiji Charter Fishing

Going to Australia and Fiji in the next few weeks and would like to take my family fishing. Any suggestions or insights on who to use, where to go, what we're likely to catch, etc.? We will be in Cairns, Australia and Nadi, Fiji.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Nomad is an outfit on the Barrier Reef, more fish than you can shake a stick at. From popping, to jigging, to trolling. Plan for a full week of hard core action.

I asked that same question about Fiji about one month ago, but got no responses. I fished out of Sigatoka for one day which was cut short because three of us (not me) got sick and we called the trip off early. I also spent some time in Nadi and the Yasawas, but did not try to fish there. The prevailing winds and waves on the west coast seemed much calmer than on the south coast. The place where you are staying should be able to help you find a charter. Good luck and I would love a report when you return. By the way, Fiji is really far away!

Fishing charters in Fiji can be very poor to very good. I would ask around well beyond the hotel before choosing a charter. In Cairns you should be able to find a decent charter relatively easily.

If you are near Sydney my best mate Roy in Gerringong is the way to go. SeaLady Charters or ping me and I will call him for you! I have fished with him for 40yrs and he is the best.

Regards,
Al

Cairns to gerringong is no small trip, one's tropical, the other is temperate and about 4 hours flying and 3 hours driving in between.

Chartering out of cairns is easy, chartering out of Fiji I've been told is usually a walk up proposition for best results

Most of the guys I know who fish Fiji take a good selection of lures with them.
