Default Tuna fishing " after the hookup

How do you guys take care of your catch after the tail roping? Do you drag around to cool off. What about bleeding them. bagging in ice ect.... I noticed sometime on WT the heads are cutoff and most times intact.

After you boat him, take a picture! Best time to take a picture with your catch is right after he has been boated while the fish is still lit up. After that bleed him and into the ice slurry. Tuna must be bled when caught. Are for cutting the heads off, I always thought they did that so they could stuff ice in the gut cavity? ;?

I've seen guys bleed tuna right behind the fin and other cut a slit by the tail. Any preference? I always bled my tuna behind the side fin.

After I land the fish I will swim the fish immediately by his mouth lower jaw this will revive the fish 50% of the time if it doesn't that's ok so I will swim it for a while you can rake the gills etc. I find that when done head first you can get his temp lower rather than by the tail then I will hang fish of a cleat for a while seeing that the water temp is mostly cold it will help cool off the whole fish then I lift fish in boat then dress it and pack with ice ???hope this helps.
