Default Costa Rica Charter Recommendations? Los Suenos

Hello,

I'm looking for some recommendations for charters that operate out of the Los Suenos marina. If anyone has any experience or first hand knowledge they can pass on I would appreciate it.

I have a condo at Los Suenos and will be sending customers down on a fairly regular basis and need to have a guide or two available to schedule fishing trips in advance for them.

There's a group going down in August I need to schedule two days for, then my wife and I will be down the following week and I'll probably do a day of fishing myself. I've heard some horror stories and my last trip down was pretty much the equivalent of a travel agent filling slots for multiple boats.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Bubba carter on the tijerta, especially for billfish. We have had great success with Carlos on the wingman. A great trip is to drive to Quespos and snook fish.

Not sure where he's at now but ask around for Capt. Ed McClave

Michael Alligood with Reel Extreme Sportfishing adventures runs a top notch operation and is one of the top boats in the Los Suenos fleet. If he is booked I would trust him to recommend a competent boat. He posts he occasionally as well. You can find him on Facebook. He is the owner/operator and books his own trips along with fishing almost everyday so you may not get an instant response.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone!

I looked up Michael and it seems he is with Epic Sportfishing now, I will give him a message as it looks like he still operates out of Los Suenos.

Dragon Fly. Have fished with them for 4 years and going again in January. Never been on a boat where the captain and crew worked as hard to put you on fish.
Book them through George Beckwith, info@pamlicoguide.com
http://www.pamlicoguide.com/costarica.html.
James (captain) usually finishes at the top of the billfish tournaments down there. Take a look at their results here. http://www.draginflycostarica.com/

They can arrange airport transportation or whatever else you need.

Never fished with them down there but I can vouch that he is a good guy and a hell uv a guide in eastern NC. I know they do a ton of trips down there.

I've been to Los Suenos twice and both times I used Miss Behavin Sportfishing. They are great guys and really the best at what they do (offshore fishing).

We just got back a month ago from Los Suenos. 8 of us chartered the Scatterbrain. Great boat, captain and crew.

X2
Mike is the best out of Los Suenos. BUT, If you are up for a road trip, we are only an hour south!!! From April to November, I can get you guys out on the full day offshore with transport included from Los Suenos at 900/day fishing with American captain John W. on my 30 foot cold molded Stress Reeliever 2. Or you can get out for 600 / day with transport included on my 28 foot inshore boat chasing roosterfish!

Thanks again for the feedback everyone, looks like I will be checking with Epic, Miss Behavin, and Capt. John for now.

@SailFishQuepos, I just sent you an email, your inshore fishing is ideal for my personal price range.

It looks like he changed his business and marketing name from Reel Extreme Sportfishing Adventures to reflect the name of the boat "Epic". Michael is a top notch captain and when we fished with him the mate Randall was top notch as well. They both adjusted to the skill level of the crew as well and let me and my wife drop back, strike, and fight our own fish as well as help reset the spread since we were both experienced.

Capt Mitch Pierson on the shotgun is really good, boat is very spacious and good shade for 6-8 people. He's a little grumpy but fishes hard and runs a great operation
