Default Can you change shimano side plates?

Was curious if I can send my Trinidads to shimano and have them change out the side plates? If so roughly what is the cost per reel? They are just a little beat from bottom fishing. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The left sidepate for a Trinidad 30 goes for $76..!!

If they were Toriums I have replaced several...and they cost the folks about $11..

It is just a cover that goes over the composite end plate.

Why send them in to Shimano for service? Why not have a local guy do it?
