I noticed his adv. too. He is neat and organized and judging by the pic has a lot of stock. I would be interested in hearing if anyone has dealt with him too.

That Willy Wonka comment almost made me spit out my water!

I spoke to him on the phone, seemed like a nice guy. Thanks for the response, I will definitely go check him out.

Has Anyone else dealt with Willy Wonka?

I'm not so sure I'd call that a hobby! He's got more inventory than 99% of the tackle shops out there!

Chris @ Pelagic Outtfiters,

I went to see "Willy Wonka" (real name is Chris) today. All of the reports regarding inventory, and his shop are accurate. I bought two TLD 25's, and one TLD LRSAIII 50. All three came spooled, and on "Davis Big Game" roller rods. The rods appear to be quality, although I can find no information good or bad about them online. They appear to be sold exclusively on EBay. I paid by PayPal, but he asked to have it sent as a gift (no fees for him this way), cash is preferred. He claims they (both rod and reel) have full factory warranty, and gives his word he will take care of anything that breaks.

He talks very fast, and it is difficult to keep track of all the dollar figures he throws around. He definitely wheels and deals, and makes you think you are getting a great deal. In hind sight, I feel like I got a decent deal, but I don't think it was anything extraordinary. I probably should have been a little better prepared, or went back to see him after digesting all of the prices, and doing some online comparison.

Anyway, I wanted to give some feedback from my experience in case others are thinking of visiting the Chocolate Factory. Thanks to those who provided input.

I just received 2 Tiagra 30's from the chocolate factory. Ordered them Friday they arrived today. Smooth transaction. He seems like a good guy. Told him he should become a sponsor here.

My only complaint is that I feel like he misrepresented the rods I bought. "Davis Big Game Fishing" rods are sold on Ebay for about $75. He talked them up pretty good. They seem ok, but I've only fished them a few times. I should have done some more homework before I purchased them.

If he tries to sell you the Davis Big Game rods, they are available on Ebay pretty cheap. Know your pricing before you go see him. Good luck!
