Default Taco lock button on Outrigger hiding

I had to retract my Taco Outriggers the other day, not the first time over the years, but after extending them again, there was no lock button to be found for one of the sections.

Any thoughts on resolving this. I would hate to have to put a bolt in there.

Thanks

It just got stuck... it's still there. You should be able to root around in the hole with a hook or something and get it.

I did just that with an awl...All I could see was a wire or very thin piece of metal, no button. Is there a way to separate the sections?

Use a heat gun to release the epoxy holding the metal ring on. Take apart and you will see the plastic sleeve that takes up slack has split and is rotating, covering the hole. Either get replacements or, as I did wrap duct tape below and above the button until it fits snugly into the other piece. Then epoxy back together.

I got the plastic sleeves from TACO but was not able to get them installed correctly hence the duct tape. The tape worked fine.

Gary,
thanks a lot, we will be giving that a try this week!

Send them back to Taco. They will fix them for cheap. I sent some back and the charged me $60 to repair them.

This has happened with my 15' poles. In my case there is a plastic sleeve that would prevent the button from coming out. I am always able to quickly rotate the pole and get the sleeve aligned with the hole and allow the button to set.

After reading the thread from Gary999 I realized that what he and others are describing isn't exactly my dilemma. Yes, the plastic is rotating but like ndb mentioned I can get all the holes aligned, but the button is not there anymore.

I plan to bring them home and take a closer look...
