Default Blue fin, Yellow fin and Mahion the 30 line

I picked up a BFT charter Sunday from Magic Man Dante. Leaving the dock at 3 AM it was a great ride out and a beautiful sun rise. We had to do a bit of hunting covering over 20 miles before we found good signs of fish. Had lots of bait on the thermal with some fish on it so we started working from pod to pod. Worked the area good for over an hour without a touch even though the bate was still there. We decided to move off a little, exploring the area but did not see any more bait or fish. We went back to where the bait had been and could not find it, because there was a tremendous school of small Bluefin that moved in and were chewing. I don't know how many hits we got as they were coming in two and three at a time. They would hit and run then let go as the fish were not much bigger than our lures. All of the Bali were hit just behind the hook. We had this for a close to an hour with some getting boated and released while others got free on their own. The bite slowed down some then an other hit and this one was 32"so we had some meet. It got quiet for a while then we got hit again by what turned out to be Mahi. There were three short bites but two stayed on and we boated a small bull about 36" the second one took a popper that one of the guys threw out. We got it up to the boat and could see it was smaller than the one we boated but still nice size but as the gaff went out he came un buttoned. Things got quiet again but we continued to work the area. Then the fish finder lit up with what looked like fish streaking up like you see when the giants or big eyes are around. I circled back around and three lines went off. One came loose after the first run. One chewed through the leader but the third one made the deck and turned out to be a yellow fin. We had some other mystery hits that left us with chaffed leaders. Maybe a marlin or a shark, don't know. But we had good action for a few hours on a near perfect day on the ocean and had some fish to clean when we got home. They were a fun group to fish with.
PS; all of the bait I marked was no more than 50' down. I did not mark any thing on the bottom but all the fish we cleaned were packed with sand eels.
