Default Treasure Cay

Have been trying to figure out where to take the family for spring break next year. After getting lost in the all islands in the Bahamas, trying to balance activities for the kids, fishing (Wahoo) and not too crowded. Was leaning to the Bahama Beach club on Treasure Cay. Since we leave in Fl, can head over to the east coast and get a direct flight. The resort seems nice but really need help about whether its the right place for fishing. Any help would be appreciated.

Look into Green Turtle Cay. You fly into Treasure Cay and then take a short ferry ride over to Green Turtle Cay, you'll love it!

Took my whole crew to Elbow a couple of years ago. Good for families and for couples. Rented a house thru Hope Town Hideaways, although we've also stayed at the Sea Spray cottages. Rent a boat to island hop, rent a gold cart to get around Elbow.

Got married Elbow, loved it.
Hopetown is awesome.
Treasure is a lot of fun, beautiful beaches and facilities.
Green Turtle a little remote but a great resort.
Time of the year will dictate whether the Wahoo are thick, always there but winter is best.

Bahamas is so confusing. Someone else said that I should go to San Salvador. I guess I need to start trying them all. Direct flights to treasure cay is nice.

Do you plan on renting a boat or are you looking for a charter? Treasure is nice but it is one of the older resorts in Abaco. Some of the lodging is new but a lot of it's older. Treasure has a great beach and a very protected marina. Not a ton of options for restaurants other than the resort and one or two places just outside the entrance off the main highway, but its been two years since I've been there. Florence's has great cinnamon rolls if you do go to Treasure. I mean world class cinnamon rolls.

Can't go wrong in the Abacos, the sea of Abaco gives you protection on the inside to cruise around. Hope Town/Elbow and Marsh Harbor can be of value too as the fishing is a little closer and there is lots to do. I love Green Turtle/Treasure as there is lots to do there too. Fishing a little better down further South however...

San Salvador is not in the Abaco's, totally different animal there. Treasure has a very nice beach but it part of main land Abaco so personally I don't get that "Islandy" feel as much in Treasure as I do on some of the out Islands. Taking nothing away from Green Turtle, it's pretty far North and more remote than Elbow. Elbow is centrally located and in close proximitely to several other islands and attractions, also look into Great Guana Cay. For your first time in Abaco I would stick to one of those two islands.

No, they won't. They will be too busy trying bot to get carried away by the skeeters.
