Default White Marlin Leaders

What is your preferred leader when trolling ballyhoo on circle hooks for white marlin off of MD/VA?

My plan was to run a 20' wind on leader of 80# fluorocarbon snelled to the circle hook. My rods are all rollers so the wind on swivel works well.

Think I should go lighter than 80#?

Thanks.

PS - We were fighting a big eye at the Washington 10 days ago and a nice white came swimming right up to the boat all lit up. Beautiful sight. Wish I had a pitch bait ready.

I wouldn't go under 60 lb leaders for just targeting whites. 80 might be a safer bet in case the tunas clobber you.

80 lb and can be shorter than 20'. We use 8-10' 80 lb flouro in tourneys.
