Default Guide recommendations for Boca Grand Pass

BIl, SIL and there 2 teen boys headed to Clearwater FL next week and I am telling them worth the drive down to Boca Grand Pass for a day of fishing

PM me or post here for any guides I can recommend to them, I realize it is short notice but I know they would have a blast

Why drive all the way to Boca Grande and fish in that zoo when there's great tarpon fishing right where they will be at Clearwater. Call Capt Jim Lemke http://tarponfishingtampa.com/ 813-917-4989. Best in the area. Bait, artificials and fly.

I will have to agree with above...

To visit and stay on boca grande, and neighboring islands is a treat in and of itself, day trip not worth it,
Siesta key, Anna Marie island are more doable as a day trip..IMHO

Can't imagine actually paying $$ to fish in that zoo. If you want to fish, and catch fish, go anywhere else (tarpon actually do live in other places as well). If you want to immerse yourself in an horridly overcrowded place with boats around go to a boat show.

Boca Grande is the LAST place I'd ever send people I liked.

They're staying in Clearwater, stay there...

As Jack said, tarpon guides for the Gulf Coast of Florida don't come any better than Capt Jim Lemke: Egmont Pass, the beaches or the bridges, or in the Bay, it doesn't matter.

THANKS to all that recommended Capt Jim, they fished with him today and had a BLAST

Have not heard their final county but they did catch quite a few tarpon with largest being 140lbs, broke off couple larger ones

Bull sharks actually go the 140 and my youngest nephew bout shit himself, he had just let go of the fish when the sharks got it

They sent me several videos and pictures and BIl and his 2 teen boys had a great time, just wished I had been there to see their faces

Thanks again for the hookup

Look up Justin Cauffman with Native Salt Charters. Boca Grand Pass is about done for the season but the bay and beaches should be producing.
Look up Bill Miller for Tampa Bay area tarpon. He is on fire right now.
