Just wondering how you charter guys make out during the season in Atlantic Beach NC. A friend of mine is connected well there & claims the area is growing- he has considered starting a low cost (-$500) near shore charter... I was a mate in Florida but never really asked how much the business was making as a whole, I'm just curios.

Growing is not the word. I moved to Florida but would not recognize My old stomoping Grounds. It continues to grow by leaps, property going crazy.

You can check this out:

http://www.capelookoutflyfishing.com/

I think the page above (which is not the home page for his site) is a schedule of charters by Capt Joe Shute, one of the better known near-shore guides in the Atlantic Beach area. You can click on specific months to see what he's got booked. Some months look busier than others.

Here's another well-known near-shore charter captain for the same area:

I shared these two sites because you mentioned near-shore. For off-shore / big game fishing, there are many others. Here's an example:

Here's some additional charter info on Atlantic beach and Morehead City (same area):

Thanks for the response fellas, when he first told me I wasnt sure if it was a wise mood. I'm used to the intense competition in the Florida Market.. Word has it that Atlantic Beach will be building a sewage system, so I would alot of growth... BTW

How far is the stream from Buefort?

Thanks again

The stream moves back and forth. I'd guess it averages 35-55 miles off the beach. Just a rough estimate. I've seen dolphin and flying fish 4 miles off the beach at times.
