Default Big Fluke!

This was our first keeper fluke of the '02 season, 25", and 6.15 Lbs. Taken on spearing/squid combo under the Robert Moses bridge near Fire Island inlet.

joe2nyc,

Nice fish, a keeper under any regulations. How many fluke did you get overall, and how many were throwbacks?

James.

Thanks guys, we only got two keeper fluke, the other one was only 18", a bunch of shorts, but we had a half dozen small bluefish that will make great shark bait in a few weeks, some sea robins, and a skate that had to go 10 lbs. Thought we had a real doormat until we got a look at it.

Shag,

What do you mean? Your fluke season doesn't open until the 4th, with a bang? (pun intended)

Here's the regs. Don't feel too sorry for us though cause this is for ocean flounder and some of us know some good spots inside the demarcation lines.

That rule sucks! Are commercials allowed to fish?
