I use pin fish, cut up pin fish & grunts. I started using a sabiki rig and catch whatever is down on the spot I'm fishing also and use that. It only takes a little time and if it is down on the spot you are on, they will eat it. I use a 6 & 7/0 circle hook (bleeding red).

Snapper love fresh cut snapper for bait! Try it with a B liner next time on a circle hook rigged Carolina style with a 6-8oz egg weight above the swivel on 30lb mono!

Live Croakers! I have yet to find a bait better.

I always hear the Venice guides talking about using fresh tuna for snapper bait.........actually tuna bellies I think. We don't catch tuna out of Fourchon so don't know for sure how well they work.

I like 5/0 mustad croaker hooks.........the circle hooks don't work well for me (I like to jerk.....and can't for the life of me stop)
