Can anyone tell me how far offshore from Portsmoth NH Jeffrey's Ledge is? My guess is 24 miles but not sure. Have new bigger boat and am looking forward to expanding my fishing grounds.

Thanks

I looked at the chart a couple of weeks ago. That sounds about right. I was measuring from Rye Harbour. The Ledge is huge. It is many miles more to get to the far edges...

Thanks,

Just bought a Sportcraft 221 WA. This puppy should be a lot more sea worthy than my old GLasstream 19 cuddy.

Jefferys is 19 to 35 nm from you. A good place for you to start is the "cove". Its loaded with haddock & cod and is on the western edge.

I hope we get a break from this wind

Here you go. The boat is at Rockport. Range circles are 1nm each.

Kingtunasx2,
The northern fingers area is 26 miles off Portsmouth. OLD Scantum,on the Southern end is 16 1/2 miles from R 2kr.New scantum is 21 1/4 miles south from r2kr. Jeffreys ledge-east of new scantum is 27 1/2 miles south of r2kr.I'm out there a lot.

Have fun, be safe, catch lots of fish!

Phil

That chart is nice. I may have to finally invest in some of that new fangled software.

KingTunasx .... Be sure you know where the GOM Closed area is. Pretty much anything east of 070 15 00. There is no commercial groundfishing year round. Use it to your advantage.

Remember new regs, 10 cod & haddock combined even if you are a charter boat.

Thanks everyone. I wish I had a GPS on this boat but will rely on the old Chart plotting method to get their. I was out about 6 miles east of the Shoals Saturday and man it was windy. Mackerel were there but they were spotty.
