Default Good Trolling Lures for Gulf of Mexico (LA & MS)

I've been out of offshore fishing for a long time. Really only had minimal experience with offshore trolling, ever. I own a few Magnum Rapala (CD-18's, I think) and a few Halco Tremblers.

I'd like to spend some time trolling offshore during this summer and fall.

What are some good trolling lures?

Thanks

I troll for kings on the upper Texas coast and have better luck with Russell Lures than anything else, also seem to catch more on gold than on silver. I think the Texas state record king was caught on a Russell.

Forgot to say, be sure and use 3' wire leader and barrell swivel. The Russell is a really active lure and the wire will cut your line if you don't use the swivel.

Is this Russell a "local" lure? Do you know if it is carried by any of the "national" internet tackle shops like Outer Banks Outfitters or Offshore Angler?

I saw the Mann Stretch lures in Offshore Angler.

They are made by Co. in Calf. I think and a little hard to find. I don't know of any of the large chains who have them. Might try an internet search. They are very durable, all metal. The make 2 sizes, 5 and 6 1/2 inch, I use only the large.
