Wonder if the tournament has the winnings from last year in an interest bearing account and will they use that money to make this year's tourney even better. Judging from the looks of the tournament turnout for Swansboro Rotary, they will need all the help they can get.
This tournament is on my bucket list, but not quite ready in the 31 Contender.

I just came back from 2 weeks of fishing in hatteras. I do not think I saw the citation leave the dock the whole time? Wow that was way to bad for the new owner of that boat. I still cant warm up to that paint color either.

Doesn't take as deep of pockets as many people would like to think, you can get in for $2500 and still be in the running for a good chunk of change between releases and the marlin prize. Add in another $500 for the Dolphin/Wahoo/Tuna spots and you could potentially win several hundred g's. I plan on fishing this year in my 30' Grady if the weather allows with a crew of three. If it is too rough then I will be on a big boat but I can wait until Sunday to make that call.

Default Big question is can the mate fish? Would not that be a bitch if he could fish it and

The citation could not. I know it was the rule from the tournament and that is that. but mates are not supposed to be considered anglers in a tournament where you usually have to specify who the anglers are.

Was the citation the boat with one crew member who f'd up and didn't have a SWL?

Why is that crime so heinous that they would be barred from competing this year? It's not like they cheated, or played a dirty trick on another boat.

I'd think losing $1M is enough punishment.
