Default Do I get the Tallica 20II or the 25II?

Seems to only be about 9/10ths of an ounce difference in the two, so why get the 20 and forgo the additional line capacity?

And which Terez rods should I match them with?

Will be used for free-lining live bait and chucking for tuna.

What size tuna? Yellowfin up to about 150# won't be a problem for the 16. the 20/25 is a beast. A guy on the Excel out of San Diego landed an 80# yellowfin on a Talica 10. You can do better price wise with a local builders rod or from Connely Fishing. I picked the 16II spooled with 60# spectra for yellowfin and blue marlin up to abut 150#.

I've got two 16s on Trevala Butterfly Jigging Casting TVC66MH and a 16 II on a TVC58XH.

I got the Talicas before the 20 and 25s were for sale. I don't know if I would pick the larger reels today because these set-ups have worked well. If I get spooled then I may change my opinions.

If you want more line on the spool get the 25. Why get a 20 to save $20 and 1 oz?

I want to get at least a 20, so I will have the harness tabs on top.

I didn't remember the tabs. Good reason to get a 20/25.

Your right about the Harness tabs, I am going to get a few as well and I am having the same delimma. I am thinking about just getting a couple of both. As for the Terez, I would think that the TZCX66XXHP would be the way to go. It's 80-200 lbs and it has extra fast action.

You will love those reels. I have a pair of 16II's on 7 foot Terez Heavy/Fast rods.

I can use them for Cod fishing, Tilefishing and even vertical jigging school bluefin.

They hold a lot of braid.

Good luck with them.
