Everything has been moved to either Outdoor Channel or VS. Most of the shows have been running since first of the year and a few reuns are starting to pop up.

If you think the TV programing has taken a turn, try ESPN radio. It has really gone downhill. Thank goodness for dan Patrick on Fox radio.

There is no decent offshore fishing show in existence right now. I want to see pelagics, billfish, no fly fish crap, don't try and tell me how glamorous it is to catch barracuda and jacks crap. I want traditional deep sea trolling out of a sportfisherman. They can do it out of a CC also but lets catch some real fish.

Into the Blue is the best new show going. It's appointment TV for me. I find myself watching the same episode twice in the same week. Would love to fish with those guys one day.

Tred Barta is doing a show on VS now.....friday nights. Met him and his wife at the Miami Show. ESPN2 has lost all my viewing and i have moved over to VS and Outdoor Channel. If i had WFN i dont think id leave the house. Dont forget good ole Uncle Ted also.....Ted Nugent.

My favorites are probably George Poveromo and Saltwater Experience. I like shows that on occasion include a few how to tips and instruction.

Probelem with all the shows now are they are turning more into infomercials than 30 minute episodes. Don't mind some of that as somebody has to pay the bills but does every fish have to be caught on a rod / reel / bait that just happens to be produced by a sponsor?

what I get tired of is all the "yeaaaaaaah! wooohooooo! is that fish catching you or are you catching it?? come on big boy, bring that fish in already, har har har. i'm out catching you, must be this lucky bait. you better switch rods with me" etc. etc. etc. Then they cut to the person sitting under a tiki umbrella rehashing how "amazing it was when that fish hit, it was like a FREIGHT TRAIN and i didn't know who was pullin who!!"

all that nonsense is not helpful at all and is quite annoying and usually extremely corny.

The reason i liked mark sosin's show is because when he was reeling in a fish, he explained what he was doing, why it worked, the ways how he increased his chances of hooking up, something about the type of fish, or something else that was helpful. he didn't sit there and cheer himself and joke with the captain. he used the time to teach. Larry Dahlberg on hunt for big fish is good about this too.

half of the show nowadays is people yelling and screaming and then cutting to a scene where they rehash their yelling and screaming and how awesome it was.

I always enjoyed Norm issacs's older shows in hawaii and Oz blue and black marlin. I also enjoyed Chris fishers show they were not afraid to kill fish and put em in the box. I miss the rumbling diesels backing down hard on a fish. Most shows don't even come close to the types of fishing we do high speed wahoo, tuna, deep dropping. Most fishing shows suck

WFN is like an addiction. I agree that Into the Blue is probably the best fishing show, it's great to watch fishing of some kind 24/7.
