Default BlueWater

I have had many of BlueWater products on our boats. Chairs, rocket launchers, step boxes and table/tackle storage units. Tom is a real gentlemen and makes the finest products. My vote would be BlueWater.

Both are good, well made products. Murray will command a bit more due to the name; bluewater is quite comparable in quality, though. Release, while just freakin' gorgeous, is boku $$$.

What kind of boat, what size??

Let me know what you are looking for regarding a Release Chair, & I'll see what I can put together for you.

For that sized boat, I would be looking at a chair with an angled (offset?) pedestal, so your angle when fighting fish in the corner of the cockpit is better. As I stated earlier, Release is Boku $$$ but their new Contour series is certainly beautiful... Stunning really.

You can also call Colin O'Neil at Pompanette. They make some beautiful chairs and I can attest to their customer service which is excellent. PM me if you want Colins number.

To me, that Release countoured chair looks like it is made from some cheesy laminate like Dymondwood.

They are all fine chairs that will give you great service....Murray, Pompanette, Release, Bluewater...

I have owned 2 Murrays, a Release and a Pompanette. All fine chairs.

Any one with all stainless hardware and West system finish will be fine. Keep it covered all the time. Dont let Googans drive your metal buts into the woodwork.

Dont think you will need an offset for that size boat.

probably not, but the need for an offset stanchion is usually driven by the beam of the boat, position of the chair and how much freeboard it has.

I've got to be honest with you, I've had boats with fighting chairs for years, I love the way they look. But they spend a lot more time in my shed than they spend in the boat. Unless your targeting Giant Tuna, or big Blue Marlin, both of which can be caught without a chair, you really don't need one.
