Default Fishing Venice, La.

The weather for offshore fishing last week couldn't have been better. Flat calm just about everyday, although there was fog in the passed on the ride out and some days the ride in, once you were offshore it was clear and very nice. The yellowfin tuna have started to show up. They aren't here in big numbers yet but it shouldn't be much longer. The largest Yellowfin we had last week was a 120lber. but the avg. size brought to the dock was around 160lbs. with several going over 200lbs. However, for the bigger fish you've got to work at it and you may only end up with one or two bites from Yellow fin for the day but in between there is all the black fin you want. Some of them going over 25lbs. but the avg. size is about 18. They can be a lot of fun while you wait for a big Yellowfin to show up. They will start to congregate in larger concentrations as we move into late Feb. and March which will mean non-stop action on certain days. The wahoo are inconsistent right now, they are here and there but nothing you can pattern. We should get another good run before "winter" is over. As usual the Amberjack are thick if you hit the right spot, bait choice doesn't seem to matter. We've got plenty of open days left in Feb. and March so if your looking to get out and catch some fish this is a good time to go.

Default wahoo

The wahoo bite here in NJ is more consistent than yours by the looks of it.
I can guarantee no wahoo every day!
Nice catching.

What's your average catch on a good day ... any double/triple hookups ... have any pics?

Reread my post- It's more consistent here because there are NO wahoo being caught or even any chance of going for them.
