Take a look at Daiwa Saltist for the same price. I think the Saltist is a tougher reel and the better deal. Nothing wrong with the Saragosa at all, I just think the Saltist is more for the money.

saragosa's are great reels i have a few. i like them the best out of the reels in there price range ie you get what you pay for. ive caught big amberjacks, kings, schoolie size tuna with them and never had a problem. and shimano does have pretty good customer service.

the 8000 will hold around 330 yards of 55lb braid and the 6000 is same size reel just with a smaller spool. i use the 8000 with a oti g2 300gram jigging rod and love how light the combi is, 60lb aj's cant spool me

i would use the 5000 for those type of fish same reel size as 4000 but bigger spool. Spool it with 20 or 30lb braid and good to go

thanks for the info, so you are saying the 4000 will be small enought for yellow tailing and jigging mangs

I believe the 8000 size and up are made with different (ie better) component guts. The 8000 is a pretty small reel, but is a god workhorse. We have caught several 200-300 bluefin tunas on the same saragosa in NE. I would use these reels over any other at...unless you can get a saltiga or stella.

5000 would be best choice imo the spool is a little bit bigger but same size reel as 4000 so why not get the bigger spool?
