Default shimano calcutta 250dc

I was given a calcutta 250dc a couple yrs ago for xmas from my girlfriend. I love the reel it cast is unreal. I have it on a st. croix 6ft 6 avet rod the combo is great for casting for small rock specks and flounder. I know its price was high at 499 retail but why did they stop making them I've had no problems other than having to replace the pattles on the handle does anyone else have one and is it true they quit making them. Thanks have a safe and happy fishing season.

It is one of the smoothest, slick and tight reels i've owned. Freakish butter smooth everything including the ball bearings in the paddles/handles.

Very noticeably nicer than my Penn 965, Abu 6500 C5 mag, Abu Morrum, and regular Calcutta, abeit much more $ (double) than the aforementioned.

If you can afford it, buy it.

Don't fret, with the exception of the 700s, the new calcutta reels are even better than the DC.
The 400 BSV and the newer 400 TE are unbelievably smooth. Catch a 35 lb striper on those and you're in for a real treat.
