Default GAG IS CLOSED. HAD ENOUGH? Protest NMFS on Friday, Feb 25

Hey all- I'm Denny O'Hern, Exec Dir of the Fishing Rights Alliance.

Rise up on Friday, February 25th, 9-noon, in front of NMFS in St. Pete.

By land or by sea, you can stand up and be counted. The NMFS building has a beautiful 360 degree view of its surroundings, which include a beautiful waterfront view and a view of the block on which the 'demonstration and education event' is being held. Imagine the impression you will make on the NMFS when we stand together and demand answers.

We are just getting the fires lit on the big boiler, so bear with us for a few days.
Info is available on the FRA website. We need some volunteers to help with the distribution of educational materials.
You will leave with a list of specific actions to take. More importantly, you will leave with an understanding of the problem and a sense of purpose in being part of the solution. Congress will be watching (and maybe attending) this event. The following Monday, FRA Directors will take the message to Congress.

Stay current at www.theFRA.org/fishing_matters_to_me.htm

This is one you should NOT miss. We are inviting Governor Scott and other officials.

Rise up now, my friends, for the wolf is IN THE HOUSE. He got through the door and is about to eat your children. Whatcha gonna do????????

Unfortunately, I can't make it to the event. But, I would like to get involved. I've had enough.

If there is all this flawed data out there what is your organization doing about fixing that other than complaining? Has your organization tried to gather any data of your own? What about getting together with other organizations and funding some research of your own to fight against all this flawed data.

I am not saying that getting together and showing your disgust with NMFS is a bad thing but try and fix the problem and not just complain about it.

Everyone bitches and complains about the fisheries management but no one is giving the recreational angler any science to fight with. If we are to win any fight we need proof to show the NMFS our position. Lets build on this and get something done.

This comment is intended for the organizations that say that they represent the recreational anglers and not in any way directed at individuals that are out there protesting/attending MNFS meetings. They ask us for money all the time to work on our behalf and have done little to help our situation over the years.
