Default Bent butt rods

What are the pros/cons of bent butt rods? Are tld 25s okay to put on them?

For stand up fishing, bent butts can give you more leverage on very heavy tackle and drag settings, reels like 70 class and larger with drag settings of 25lb or more. Anything less and normal rods are better, even with heavier reels a lot people prefer standard rods as bent butts take some getting used to.

IMHO a tld25 is not the kind of reel for a bent butt. You may also find it difficult to find a reel seat for a tld25 too, the leg is pretty small.

I fish short bent butt 30's all the time. Lever drag 2 speeds. I find 30's to be plenty for tuna up to 100 lbs. A short bent butt gives you the advantage and wips a tuna in no time. You must wear a harness with a short bent butt.
Large bent butts, 80 and 130 need to be fished from the chair and are full length rods to clear then gunnel.
