Default Loop protectors on single strand ?????

Just thinking out loud here... What do you think about putting Metal thimbles on single strand wire. I think that it would help the wire incase it would ever synch down the hay wire twist, which would cause it to kink. Or even just help with the point of axis on the ring of a swivel, that is most likely to be where the wire will kink because its over half way bent already.

Any thoughts??

A properly formed Haywire twist will not sinch down. If yours is, add a few more X wraps before you do your barrel wraps.

As for the loop protector, its generally only used for mono. You might end up causeing more problems than you solve with dissimilar metals. (hook/wire leader/thimble or spring chafe gear).
