Default Fishing on unreel WAHOO

Went out this morning at 5 30 am with plans to go 15 miles to the east to east end bank and were greeted with 4 to 6 foot chop so decided to just fish the edge and less then 40 minutes after lines in a 38 pound Wahoo hits the boat. Caught on a black and red islander rigged with ballyhoo in 800 feet of water under a couple of sea gals. Less than 3 miles off shore. The tide was rising also

We might of got one or two more but the battery's started to loose charge and we had to be towed in but besides that great day on the water !'

Nice, good thing the weather was bad and you didn't break down 15 miles from land. Funny how things work out some times.

It sounds like you have bought line that is too thick for your reel.

The diameter of your reel, or its circumference is probably too small

It is the thickness of the line which is probably causing the problem. Braid line that is 40lb test is quite thin and you can wind that onto just about anything without having the problem you have described.
Think you posted on the wrong forum or your very high lol
