Default St. Thomas, USVI

I was wondering if anyone had any experience fishing in St. Thomas,

My family and i are stopping on the island on a cruise at the end of feb/beginning of march and were looking to charter a boat for offshore or inshore fishing for the day.

i was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a boat/captain in the area, and what fishing was popular & catching that time of year ?

any feedback would be greatly appreciated

There is a charter boat operation called "Double Header", I believe, that has three different boats. They would be good for just about everything. For strictly marlin fishing you should check into fishing on the "Marlin Prince". Like stated above, look them up on google. Good luck.

Check out Mixed Bag.

I went on a charter with them a few weeks ago and they were pretty good. You'll mainly catch wahoo and small tuna this time of year.

I just got back from St John, last week. I checked out a bunch of the pro charters. They all looked good, but since it was just me, I didn't want to spend that much $$.

Really, (from what I heard, and I am no Pro by any means) I feel like the marlin fishing is exceptional there, but it's mostly a summer-time thing.

Then I found this guy named Travis who runs Obsession Sportfishing.

I went out with him and did 90% spearfishing (first time for me) and some trolling. We caught a cero for dinner and I had some good shots at other fish (a flag, another cero and mini-grouper for example).

I highly recommend him, email or call him up. He'll fish for whatever you want, and his prices are reasonable for 1-2 people. He also does snorkel trips and dive instruction.

Have fun!
