Rigging my 750

I'm going to be rigging my Penn 750 for tossing chunks or live baits to Cobia, Dolphin, and Sailfish. Currently I plan on putting on 30# braid. Any suggestions on if a leader is needed and if so what type, length and #. Any other rigging suggestions are most welcomed.

We use 50# fluorocarbon

A swivel to attach braid to the 60 flouro leader

Alternative method to the swivel would be Uni to Uni Knot / 3 Turn Surgeons or any knot you can tie. This will give you longer leader that will not interfere with the rod guides when casting.........
Hope this helps ....... ICM

I am with ICM.. I would tie a knot.. I prefer the albright knot but that is the one I tie the best.

Thanks for the inputs. I'll go with 50# leader tied with a double Uni knot to my braid. Normally when I do this I'll double the braid.

Six feet of leader sound about right for the species targeted?

I use 5' leaders and connect them to the mainline with a loop to loop connection

I cast lures with the same reel so that is why I use a swivel to connect the line.
