Default Best knot?

What would be the best knot for attaching 50-80lb mono to 50-80lb braid. I understand the mono against the spool, braid for the fill and a topshot of mono but unsure of the knots! and will the braid cut into the guides if they are not ceramic. Will braid cut into roller guides? I have a rod with stainless fugi guides and the tip has been grooved by braid , I replaced it with a ceramic and it has been fine since. Thanks!!

I use a back to back uni-knot on Braid to mono - Never had a problem - as far as cutting into the rollers I am not sure I use metal and cremanic guides not have not cut one yet

Good Luck

The best knot for attaching mono to braid was shown to me by “Crazy” Alberto. I’ve used it ever since and it has never let me down. Here is how to tie one:

I like to fish better than tie knots. Albright is fine for your application.

Best connection for putting a topshot on, connecting mono to braid is to insert the mono into the center of the braid and run it up about 4 feet, then serve the end of the braid with dental floss to heep it from unraveling. Works like a Chineese Finger trap. Absolutely no "bulky" knots to hang up in a guide or pick up grass
