Default Spin reel for bone fish

I'm looking to buy a spin set up for bone fish. Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have a budget/dollar limit in mind?

As a starting point, for reels, look at the Daiwa TD Advantage 2500 spooled with 15lb braid. A Shimano Stradic 3000FH will also work, as will many other reels for more and less money. These two reels will cost you $160 and 180 respectively.

For rods, GLoomis Greenwater series, model 9000S, 7'6", 6-12lb. Cost will be around $200. A rod longer than 7' will give you extra casting distance -- handy when the bones are spooky (and that's always ).

Tightlines,

PB
