What is your favorite fish to catch?
Why is it your favorite: because it is the best to eat, because it is the best fight, ???
What is your favorite way to catch your fish of choice: live bait, dead bait, artificial lures, trolling, bottom rig, etc?

Tuna, they are great fighters and good eating. Chunking is my preferred method of fishing for them with trolling a close second.

Second the wahoo, the take, the fight, then the plate.

For lighter tackle, I love Spadefish, you see them take the bait and it's on!

For big tackle, Tuna are good fighters and can wear you out. Nothing can spool a reel faster than a Wahoo though. Nothing is more melodious than a singing drag.

Must be one humungous fly for a tarpon to be able to be "on it"

Oh, I am sorry I will explain how it it is done.
First you need a flats or bayboat, then you set up in an area that the tarpon are traveling or feeding, ( are you guys still with me here)?
Next step is to get up on the bow of the boat using a 11 or 12 wt flyrod, when a string of tarpon swims in range you pick out a fish and cast ? This requires a great deal of skill you should be a proficient fly caster.
A totally different game then dragging dead meat or chumming behind a big sportfisherman

I inquired about doing that once a year ago with a guide in the Keys and he told me he'd take me if I could show him that I could toss a fly 50 ft onto a dinner plate. Needless to say we ended up fishing the way the "Pros" do it (chum, live bait, wait for the incoming tide). Guess I'll have to get my own boat if I want to waste my time.

Tarpon all about the fight. next would be steelhead again about the fight. the tarpon would be jigging or chunking or bufferfly a whole mullet. steelhead would be noodle rodding with light line either egg sacs or flies depending on what time of year. and i cant leave out hybrid stripers some of the best fighting fish in my neck of the woods and preferred way would be livelinning herring. MAN I NEED TO GO FISHING, MONDAY IS GOING TO SEE ME ON THE HUDSON

My uncle is a master guide and master instructor (fly fishing) in New Brunswick . . . Atlantic Salmon on the Mirimichi River . . . Tarpon must be a real rush . . .

Yes it requires skill to fly fish . . . However . . . each kind of fishing has its own skill and knowledge
