I am going to kill two birds with one stone tomorrow (Thursday) by doing a shake-down cruise and some recon for SBFT. I figure I'll go 14 miles or so out of the Merrimack and hit 1/2 way hump. Got the Penn 9500's loaded up with Stren Super Braid and a livewell full of crippled herring. My sources tell me its football season. Anyone with me???

Is SBFT an acronym for cod up by you? Are you kidding? It's about 10 weeks before the bluefin show, at least if prior experience is any guide. But if you're not kidding and know something, I'm calling the yard and dropping the boat in the water.

Yes, and the great thing about that trip is you'll be catching a good tide for stripers at the river mouth on your way back in after you catch all that tuna

A bit early for BFT, but wrestling some "Boston Bluefish" off the bottom should be within the realm of possibility. I've give my right to tangle with a few of those, right about now

Okay, you got me! But you shouldn't make jokes about such a sacred subject as catching tuna.

Gordon- forgot to mention that we are going a bit out of the way to fuel up today. Heading to Venezuela to top off the tanks:
