Hate to be the bearer of not so good news but from a fishing standpoint West End is not on many anglers lists as a fishing destination. While it is in the Bahamas the only good thing to say about West End from a fishing standpoint is that it's in the Bahamas.

demo, i have to disagree w/first light. i just fished the bacardi rum billfish tournament out of port lucaya, grand bahama and on day 1 tagged a blue marlin (250+) just 10nm nw of west end in 1200ft. also there is some great bottom fishing by memory rock.

just slightly north of the west end customs office, in about 90 feet of water the reef fishing is great.just bring some chum and you will catch plenty of yellow tails and snapper. trolling along the reef west of the inlet is great as well.

I've never fished there, but a few years ago were were clearing customs in the West End and upon our approach we saw three freejumping whites about 15 miles offshore. While the fishing may not be as good as some of the other islands, it should be better than most continental locations.
