Offshore, I wish I was, but I have my spring work weekend at my hunt club. I was looking at the weather and it does sound pretty good. After last year, I hope this won't be the last good weekend of the year. There weren't too many good ones. Good luck to ya. I hope you load up the fish box.

TigerRag, Thanks!! Hopefully we can hook up one weekend when you go down. I know about the weather last year it would be different if I could go during the week but that is tough so my goal this year is to go whenever the weekend looks good!!

Kirk, you headed south of the Big Rock chasing yellowfin and wahoo? Give us a fishing report when you get back?

Offshore, I'd like to hear a fishing report there also.

Thanks, Matt

I'll be out at the Same Ole tomorrow on my friends Albemarle. They have been doing well from the Swansboro Hole down to the Same Ole.

They fished two days ago and had tuna, wahoo and kings. Tuna were all under 40lbs but there were plenty of them. Hopefully, they will still be there tomorrow!

The boat name is Bullet III so give a shout if you are out!

Tarnold,
Sorry for the late reply. The Steeples is around 75 miles from Shallotte inlet and 68 from lockwood. I usually go out of Lockwwod just to eliminate a few extra miles spent in the ocean, and by the way we had a great day yesterday. We caught 2 Wahoo 40-50 pounds each and one Yellowfin about 35 pounds. I hope all of yall got to go out because it was a beautiful day.

Hey Guys , thought I would chip in. I fished the Black Jack area out of Ocean Isle Sat and ended up with 2 Dolphin and 1 68lb. Yellowfin, it set the new record at the OI fishing center for Yellowfin weighed in and got us a nice gift cert. BTY Shore Thing I think I talked to you at the fuel dock fri. while you were fueling up at OIFC.

We stoped on the way to the Fpt area at around the 20 mile mark Saturday and got on some nice seabass. We also had a school of peanut blues come through and were catching them two at a time. We just stayed there!! Alot of nice sea bass in the three lb range. Weather was great ! We stayed on them for about three hours and headed in around 3:00pm with a cooler full.

Did not get to go myself, but the Wrightsville Beach crowd that went to the Same Ole did pretty well. Just wandering the docks Sat. afternoon, saw quite a few FAT 'hoos (like 40+ lber's !!) and some nice yeller-fins and a few kings mixed in to boot. Boys said that last 18 or so mi. back in was lumpy!

Don't think anybody went today as she was a'howlin !

Well guys, I made my 1st ever to the stream Saturday. Started at the MacMarlen Ledge and worked about 15 miles toward the Steeples. Caught a king and 3 mahi. Fought a yellow fin for 25 minutes before losing it on its 3rd trip to the surface. I just didn't have strong enough tackle to take it on. It was on a tld 25 w/ 30# line so it would surface then take off and I couldn't do a thing. I'll have heavier stuff next time.
Hey, gman and smoker send me an email and let me know how to contact you. I keep my boat at oib.
