Just saw fishing report to Carolina Outdoor section of News and Observer from East Coast Sports at Surf City. Says plenty of false albicore nearshore as well as a few bonito. Inshore lots of black sea bass and a few specks soundside. Can't go this weekend, but finally closing on beach house next week. Gonna be down there moving stuff in the following weekend, maybe I can find a few hours to hunt down some of those albies.

Hey 19 Maycraft.
I will be fishing Easter Weekend also. It is a bit early, but hopefully the bonito will be around. Where are you going to launch from? I am not too familiar with Topsail area..

There are two great places to launch from depending what inlet you are going out of... If you are going out of New river lnlet, it best to put in under the high rise bridge going over the ICW its a wildlife landing.....If you are going out of Topsail Inlet there is a new launch that was built last summer right beside the swing bridge.....both are free and clean...

There is also a brand new marina that opened up last year, called Beach House Marina....plenty of wet a dry slips, and gas, it s also right by the swing bridge, Hope to see you then....I will post again when details and conditions are more firm....I am going to try to put my boat in the water for the first time this weekend, here in Raleigh at Falls Lake, just to break in the motor....
